Not all fats are created equal. Different bur points, altered nutrient values after cooking, and altered flavor profiles when cooked. Here's a few things to keep in mind to get the most flavor and nutrients from your cooking fats!
HIGH HEAT - Best for searing meats, flash frying, ect.
🔥 Avocado oil
🔥 Bacon grease - very misunderstood. Do not be afraid to cook with a little bacon grease. Perfectly healthy in moderation and incredible for flavoring.
MEDIUM HEAT - Best for sauteing, simmering, etc.
🔅Extra virgin olive oil
🔅Grass Fed butter
COLD - Best for dressings, pastes, cold sauces, etc. Use a mustard or yogurt to emulsify the oil (keep it from separating)
❄️ Hemp seed oil
❄️ Walnut oil
❄️ Flaxseed oil
❄️ Regular olive oil
❄️ Pumpkin seed oil
