⏱TIME UNDER TENSION ⏱
Stuck at home without heavy weights?
One way we can get around that is by manipulating TEMPO. Slow down your movements to improve motor control, build mind muscle connection, and accumulate time under tension.
If we cant overload the muscle with WEIGHT, we’ll have to overload it with TIME
Using time under tension we can work with weights or bodyweight movements that may normally be too easy for you and turn them into a real challenge.
Take the push up for example 👆🏼Maybe a set of 15-20 pushups is easy for you. Rather than just blindly adding reps, try doing a set of 8-10 at a tempo of “3121”
Lemme break that down...
⏰ 3 seconds on the way down (the negative)
⏰ 1 second Pause at the bottom
⏰ 2 seconds on the way up (the Positive)
⏰ 1 Second pause at the top
That's a total of 7 seconds per rep. Those muscles will be toast!
